Allowing Admin to give limited access to admin CP for co-admins.

by limited access i mean permission for each area of the admin CP, for Example giving co-admin the ability to use limited areas ("Forum management", "Moderation queue" & "Users & Groups") of the Admin CP ... and deny access to all other areas.

i think this will be very helpful for large forums (like mine) where basic edits through admin CP are required as per the growing numbers & admin cant be around at all times.

Thanking you,
Zee

  1. After giving a user permission to use the Administrator CP, you can set what he/she can do within the ACP. So, if you want super moderators to use certain parts of the ACP you change their usergroup to be able to access the ACP, then:
Admin CP --> Users and Groups --> Admin Permissions
Edit the permissions on a user-to-user level, or whole usergroup by clicking appropriately.

I think that's what you mean..

  2. thanks, but what i meant is more power over these controls cause i cant trust all users on the forum and i don't want my settings to be changed by anyone else. these current settings have helped but i still hope to have more power over these.

    thanks again,
    Zee ^^

  3. Could you then be more clear as to what you would like to restrict their ability to?

    We can't read minds. :)

Also, if you have super moderators, you should be able to trust them enough to give them at least SOME permission in the Admin CP.
What would you like your other administrators to be able to change/do?

  4. :) well trust isnt a big issue ^^ but everyone tends to change settings ..... so ... i would want to give them permission for managing forums, but not editing the permissions or announcements section. and like giving them an option to include members in the Team but no other option of editing fields ... like while editing the user ... Primary, secondary & Display user groups should be available, rest all blocked.

but currently i'm facing the problem of the supermods not having the option to Ban violators ... did search to find plug-ins for it but no luck.

    kindda like those inner settings.

    thanks again.

  5. MyBB 1.4 gives the option for Super Moderators to ban users.

The MyBB 1.4 AdminCP has also been redone, so I hope it can satisfy most of your wants. You'll need to be aware that we cannot give _too_ many controls, as, just imagine how complex the Admin permissions page would be!
