  2. This defeats the purpose of Quick-Reply.
That's what a normal reply is for, and if you learn BB Code (which is not hard) you don't need the formating bar and smilies. This isn't needed, and would take longer for each topic to load.

  3. If it includes all the BBCode buttons, and smilies, as Dr Small states it defeats the purpose of 'quick'...

  5. Dislike the idea of making quickly reply slower and bulkier. Serves little purpose.

  6. I think this should be a plugin/modification.

I like it the way it is

  7. How many times do we have to have someone suggest this before people realise that it is never going to happen...*bangs head against wall*.

People should look up the word "quick" more often.

  8. I personally think it should just contain a few buttons for formatting, like the bold, italic, underline buttons.. not too many though.

  9. Sephiroth:

They would still take time to load, and the idea of the "Quick Edit" is for small edits to your post, like if you post and suddenly spot a spelling error and need to change it. It shouldn't be used for actual formatting, and if you want to do this you should learn MyCode (not that hard) and be able to type it all in by hand.

I haven't clicked a MyCode button in probably over a year since I find it easier to just type it all out :P

  10. Poodle:

I do know MyCode/BBCode/etc.... The thing is, there's some BBCode that's used way more than others, and should be included on the quickreply/quickedit. >.>

  11. I voted yes, but after reading the comments, I have to agree that the main purpose for the quick edit, is that it loads and saves quickly. That would go away if we bogged it down with too much stuff! oops! LOL...but I also agree with Sephiroth...maybe a few of the most used, though again, we can add the mycode ourselves without having to click a button! :D

  12. quick reply means quick lol so i think this should be a plugin

  13. Sephiroth:

And how do we decide which MyCode should be included??? Some people will want the [php] code button because they use it all the time, whilst others might want to have just the [b],[u], and [i] codes. MyBB can't satisfy everyone at the same time, so the best way to solve this is to NOT have any buttons displaying.

  14. i am all for it as long as the advance quick reply has less features the the new reply. the quick reply should have the basics and new reply should have lot of random buttons.

  15. I have to make advanced reply mod for mybb because I want everything on quick reply box.

  16. Quick Reply = No need to click "reply"

That would take much longer to open then it would to add a few basic/minor addition, it wouldn't slow it down either. (not really) IPB & VB have it has standard, PhpBB and Smf have mods. Either way MyBB could add it and have an option to disable it, as I'm sure more would use it than not.

I personally voted for it but I doubt it'll change anything, looks pretty set to be ignored.

P.s If I posted any other way I wouldn't be giving my opinion and I'm just voicing my concerns and thoughts.

  17. That's good idea! I voted for it.
But just "inserting smilies" would be better instead of bbcodes..
