For downlaod sites it is very important. Because in my site every user can upload files (all about mobile phone) but if you try to find attched files by using search.php it doesnt work.... I belive it will be very helpful......

Although the concept is a good idea, this may be a little hard to get to work seeing as attachments are renamed according to the user and post they are in.
I think a "search only threads with attachments" option should be added to the normal search page, and maybe even a list of all attachments on the forum could be made accessible to the users.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't see it working out very well - what kinds of things would you be able to search for? And attached files are always in a post - they're not like an uploads site.

And in regards to the attachments list, I'm sure it'd be limited to only ones they can see, if you know what I mean.

There is a download plugin which might be good for a site with heavy downloads area.
