Ban from Thread

It would be nice to be able to ban a user from a specific thread only, rather than the entire board. Sometimes a user doesn't need to be banned from the entire board, just made to shut up in a particular thread.

As far as I know, no other forum system has this feature. It would be unique to MyBB :)

  1. Yes. And what I find important with a forum is absolute control, godlike powers over everyone else.

    vBulletin has come close to this...but myBB is catching up

  2. I don't like the idea because I don't see any reason why you would like to ban a user only from a thread. If the thread is getting spammed, then the thread should be closed. If the user is spamming (in all the board or only in the thread, that doesn really matter) the user is banned from all the board. I think that if the user is doing something he must not do in the thread, he can do the same thing in the rest of the board, so you directly ban him from the entire board.

  3. If ONE user is causing a problem in ONE thread, it's way overboard to lock the thread or ban that user for such a small thing. If MyBB won't consider adding this, I hope someone will consider making it a plugin.

  6. Will be good if moderators can be bann user for thread and/or moderated subforum. IMHO the good idea integrate this function in forum warning system.

  7. I think this is quite smart as we all know sometime people will get in disagreements in a thread and get a little pushy. Well this could make it where if one individual is taking it too far then you can just block them from the thread. Therefore they would have to bicker on their own time and really couldn't go to another thread and start bickering as it wouldn't make sense.
