Better permissions editor

A revamp of the permissions editor might be good. At the moment, if I wanted to create a new member group, I would have to go through each and every forum, and set the permissions (or let it inherit from the parent, but to be honest, I only allow viewing of my catagories, not posting, so that doesn´t work for me) You could implement it by having the option to base your new member group of an existing one, basically by copying it, and then manually editing the bits you need, or, by having a check box system, where you can bring up the new usergroup permissions which has the permission along the top, and the forums listed down the side, then just check each one that you want to apply. This would make things alot easier, especially on forums with several boards

I was thinking about that, and having a default forum permissions matrix in the new usergroup page would allow you to not have to change everything from no. The problem is that, let's say you have a staff forum. Until you got around to changing those perms for the staff forum the user would have access to it!

@ Tikitiki: You could always just use the permissions from one group, from a drop-down menu, and simply edit it to your liking. That way you can choose which group to base it on, AND modify it before creating it.

YES! On my forum I am constantly making new user groups, and I have quite a few private forums. So, it gets pretty annoying having to one-by-one disable their permissions on the private forums. I moved from an invisionfree forum to mybb, and one of the things I missed on invisionfree was the ability to make a forum group inherit the permissions of another one to start, then modify them as needed. That would certainly make it less tedious.

Creating new usergroups and modifying all forumpermissions take a lot of time. It would be useful to give a new usergroup permissions only to specific (sub)forums. The permissions for all other forums should be "red colored" with "NO".
