There are times when the moderator may want to use html coding and deny it to the rest of the population. My idea is simple. Enable html for user specific group such as the moderator.

This way the moderator can still use html features and not put the entire site at additional risk.

  1. I agree....Certain groups that are trusted should be able to post HTML....

  2. What would the proper protocol be if a non-trusted user quotes a trusted post with HTML?

  3. And allow HTML per user ?
Quote should become only an ID referring to the quoted post, to disallow modifications; or the quote will not be displayed with HTML.

  5. similar to my idea, i would be better if all users are dissallowed access to mycode and html until they have been given permission in the ACP.

  6. This is an awesome idea.

Allowing html for specific users would get complicated... it would be easier making separate user groups and moving users into them to keep track on who can post html. EG:
    Members
    Members (html)
    Moderators
    Moderators (html)
    etc.

  7. I have wanted this for a long time. This functionality can't hurt, but it can help!

I have a plugin that writes RSS feed with HTML into new topics. In order for it to display properly, I have to set the entire forum to allow HTML. I wish I could just allow the RSS posts to allow it!

    Thank you!

Either strip HTML, strip certain tags, or convert to MyCode.
