Forbid plugins as "Private Message Admin"

The users must trust in the technology of MyBB. Especially the users must trust that private messages stay private and won´t be read of anybody else. So I don`t understand, that there is a plugin on this site, with which the admin can read private messages. I think, this is an abuse of the users trust. My suggest: Forbid this plugin with 1.4. |

The MyBB Group can't forbid a plugin of another author. Please contact him.

I think this is a strange idea.
What if you have a member who is being hassled in some way.
I think a plugin like this has to be a part of the default installation, and maybe even used in the standard membership I agree text. It will most likely deter some of the potential abusers.
Mind you, I do not have the plugin on my forums, but I think these things have more then just 1 site in the story... -

You do realise that the admin *usually* has access to the database anyway? Private messages haven't ever been private in any bulletin board system.

Oodles is right... In the sense of "Private" it only implies private from other members, not admins.

Why would you want to do that? I don't think it is even possible.
If you don't want them reading your PM's, then DON'T USE THE PM FEATURE! If you are on a forum where you know they have that installed, just ask anyone you want to contact for their email and talk to them that way if you wish. If you have something to hide from that forums staff, then you would object to the PM admin feature. However, if you are doing nothing wrong, then don't let it worry you.
This plugin is useful for PM abusers and also to get evidence if someone is trying to scam someone via PM.
I say that is should stay, or even become part of the default installation (and people can then choose if they want it activated or not).
Therefore, I don't agree.
