I noticed that iTunes has a beta version of my idea for MyBB. Anyway, now that search for MyBB is better than it used to be, I would like to see a 'May Be Interested' section which would publicise to the individual user, topics which have similar specific keywords in which that same user uses in posts that that user has posted.

For Example: Most forums are multi-topiced. Many users talk about many different things. Some of which other users are not really interested in and which some are. The forum would be able to select keywords which have been used multiple times in the user's posts around the forum and then compare those keywords to keywords which are of similar value in posts with no participation from that user. The forum would then provide links to these threads to that user so that the user can visit.

This system has one great main advantage; It stimulates activity on small forums by providing thread links in which users may find interesting from past participation. Because of the stimulative activity, the forum grows rapidly and continues to grow, as there is always something which the system can find which may interest the user to participate in.

The system can be implemented in just the User Control Panel, or it can be Index, or Forum Specific. In the User CP, the forum would list random threads which meet the users keyword criteria. On the Index, a box right above the forum categories can list the newest threads which meet the users keyword criteria. And the same be applied in the specific forums, only this time, random threads from that forum which meet the users keyword criteria be listed. The system sorts by oldest threads, random threads and newest threads, least active and most active threads and most visited and least visited threads. It can also sort by the new ratings system (http://ideas.mybboard.net/idea/accurate-...-system-ai).

Users may also be able to change their keywords later on to reflect their current attitudes, moods and behaviours.

I found that the only reason that the iTunes music store may be fully implementing their version of my idea is because it stimulates users to buy more music they love! This theory can be applied in forum software, but instead of buying music, you are finding great threads which you love talking about most.

This can then be implemented with the Digest Notification (http://ideas.mybboard.net/idea/digest-notifications) Idea, where when there is a new thread which matches your criteria you are then sent an email - simple an effective way of getting users to continually come to your forum!
