When users delete posts there is no way of recovering them to see what was written.

It would be great if the moderator log could list any changes (perhaps a diff with the current and older versions) made to a post

  1. It's a nice idea, but storing all those revisions would take up a load of database space.

  2. Actually post deletion is logged in the thread notes.

  3. You probably want to have the "soft-delete" functionality (amazingly I don't think anybody has suggested that yet).

The problem with logging all the deleted posts is that a copy of all the posts are saved, thus you're not gaining any space back and it's impossible to. However with soft delete, one would probably suggest an option to "physically remove" the post.
