i'd like to see a pdf scan or exclusion of these types , I have a mechanical engineer type forum , and they use pdf files , occaisonally to post different types of image and instrction type files and displays,,,
I dont know if some of these are safe to clik on , but it would be nice if there was a link to scan them, with a virus scan, like winrar has?

More Suitable as Plugin

  1. Wouldn't this require updates to the script all the time (for new virus definitions/etc.)? Plus, the downloader should have good enough protection to catch any of the possible viruses/etc.

  2. what happens if it corrupts your site , and or somone tries to hold your site accountable for a new computer?
or it corrupts your database or back ups?
ther are some valid download links, but is there any protection for sites, or info on this, or something that can be added as an option?
I know winwar added a file scan for viruses, but how can one check their site's links? is there a way?

  3. I have never known anyone get a virus from a PDF file. Users should be the ones responsible for protecting themselves from malware. And if you are worried about someone suing you for a new computer, just add a disclaimer stating that you will not be held responsible for any damage, death etc from use of this site.

As for it corrupting your server, that should be even less of a concern because you webserver should be setup correctly to only transmit files and not actually execute them on the server.
