Poll manager in the same page as new thread.

You make a topic and you tick the box "I want to make a poll". It submits the thread without the poll. Then you make the poll. And people usually say "why isn't there a poll for this".

I for one would love the idea to have a poll manager in the same page as new thread. That way the poll & the thread will be submitted at once.

  1. Great idea. :)

I don't mind the current way, but sometimes making the poll takes a bit of time/thinking and people have replied and left the thread before the poll is seen.

  2. i agree... just add a bit of javascript to load (or display) the poll form when the user clicks "I want to make a poll". Also, it'll be more intuitive

  3. That would certainly solve the "incomplete thread" issue. In older versions of MyBB, the thread was actually hidden until the poll was posted, and I was concerned when the developers changed that behavior. Of course, the old method had its own disadvantages.

As for the Javascript, that might make the feature more user-friendly, but it needs to work without Javascript enabled. The "poll manager" could simply be displayed inline like the Post Preview box.

  6. Nice! Maybe we could even see the poll when previewing too.

  7. Great Idea!

But the poll editor must only come, when you klick "I want to make a poll" like AJAX ;)
