In the board setting, there is the user registration and profile options where you can set the number of times to allow failed logins to a value. I have mine set to 3.

However, I noticed that this doesn't work for the admin panel. For example, if you go to yourforums/admin/ you can have an indefinite number of failed login attempts. My idea is to simply put a limit on the number of failed login attempts a person can make at the admin panel. This way after an intruder has tried x number of times, they will be locked out of the panel.

with warm regards

  1. nice idea, but what happens if you forget your password or type it wrong that number of times? How is it supposed to work? Wouldn't you be alloweb to enter the ACP anymore?

  2. It would be nice if you can set the time.
