Thread Preview on Mouseover

I'd like to see some way to mouseover a thread and get a snippet of the first post as the title attribute. I know "Click and hold to edit" claims the spot as the title attribute for thread titles right now, but honestly that could be replaced by a small button next to the thread title or something. Or, you could just mouseover the post icon for the preview. I know it's available as a plugin now, but I'd REALLY like to see this as a core feature.

This can add greatly to the load of a page. If this feature is considered it should be optional. I do believe this can also be done with a plugin. Not a terrible idea imho but one that I feel should be only an option for admins.

I'd always have it turned off. IMO it should stay a plugin.

Could be useful. But one can try SNAP Preview.

Please keep it as a plugin - that way I can keep the behavior I added to my own forum (hovering over the title displays the date / time when the thread was started).

this should stay a plugin. that way people can decide whether to have it or not.

I find it useful as I can then decide whether a thread is woth viewing or not from the small preview on some of the forums I go to, so I have it on my forum as a Plugin. Therefore, in my opinion it would then be useful to have it as a default feature, as long as you have a way to either change the length or to disable it.
